Featured Flowers for Mother's Day

There are so many beautiful flowers in season this time of year that it can be hard to choose just one variety! Here are some of our favorite Mother's Day blooms:

1. Peonies: Peonies are one of our most popular flowers. The big blooms are always beautiful, especially once they start to open. Peonies look fabulous on their own, but can also be enjoyed in a lush seasonal arrangement (like our Coastal Garden mix, available to purchase HERE).

2. Lilacs: After last year's lilac season was kind of a dud, the big buds of lilac we've been getting in this spring are a welcome sight. We love lilacs for their scent as much as their beauty. Give the gift of a bunch of cut lilacs, or purchase a lilac plant from our garden center.

3. Tulips: Tulip season is ending, so get them while you still can! Nothing says spring like a bright bunch of tulips wrapped up with some greens and pussy willow.

4. Roses: With so many beautiful colors and varieties of roses available, they don't have to be just for Valentine's Day! There are dozens of gorgeous hues to choose from (lavender, light green, and a pinky-orange are among our favorites), and a few different varieties, like fragrant garden roses, or spray roses that have many blooms on one stem. We recommend getting an assortment of a dozen mixed roses, or including roses in a nice seasonal mix.

5. Flowering Plants: We always have so many beautiful blooming plants on Mother's Day week, for both inside and outside! Hanging baskets and patio pots filled with assorted annuals are by far the most popular plant to give as a Mother's Day gift, but there are many other plant, shrub, and tree options available in our garden center. How about a nice herb or vegetable planter, or one of our cool lettuce gardens potted up in a sleek silver colander (we only have a few of these available -- so don't wait!)? Our indoor plant options include custom-made dish gardens and terrariums, beautiful blooming orchids, peace lilies, succulents, cacti, and more!
